Brown University Library Joins the Digital Library of the Caribbean

New Library Home Page and Search Technology — Coming September 1

A cleaner, less cluttered library home page will debut on September 1, 2011. The new design will gracefully adjust to tablet and smart phone dimensions and will feature new technology for searching all of the library’s resources from a single search box. Undergraduate Research Awards $750 – Apply by 3/25

Two $750 awards are given each spring for academic projects making original and extensive use of Library resources. The Undergraduate Award for Excellence in Library Research is open to any current undergrad for work completed in 2010. One last thing to do before spring break – SUBMIT! New Titles Service Now Available

The Library has just launched a New Titles service for newly cataloged titles at http://library.brown.edu/titles/ This service, which is updated daily, allows users to browse or search titles cataloged during the previous six months. Users can subscribe to an RSS feed for any browse or combination of search terms. Browsing and search results are filtered New Titles Service Now Available

Harvard and MIT Libraries Join Borrow Direct – 20 Million Additional Books Available to Brown Borrowers

The BorrowDirect partnership, which currently includes the libraries of Columbia and Cornell Universities, Dartmouth College, Princeton University, The University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University as well as Brown, will be expanding later this year to include the Harvard and MIT libraries.
