Library PressDisplay: 1700+ Newspapers, 92 Countries, 48 Languages

The Library now subscribes to Library PressDisplay, which provides same-day, online, full-color, full-page-image access to about 1700 newspapers from 92 countries in 48 languages. This not only vastly increases the number of current newspapers we have “instant” daily access to, but also provides a two-month archive, full-text searching of current and archived content (going back Library PressDisplay: 1700+ Newspapers, 92 Countries, 48 Languages

Alumni access to scholarly research, business publications & news archives

Browse 5,000 journals in your pajamas! Thanks to a two-year pilot program from the Brown University Library, Brown alumni can now stay up-to-date with a wide variety of news and research from the convenience of any computer with internet access. The Library has contracted with EBSCO Inc. to give alumni access to three distinct resource Alumni access to scholarly research, business publications & news archives

The Brown University Library, OVPR, & ADVANCE Program announce the acquisition of a new GRANTS DATABASE. Community of Science (CoS) Funding Opportunities is a frequently updated database of announcements for funding opportunities ACROSS THE DISCIPLINES. RefShare now a part of RefWorks

RefShare provides RefWorks users with a quick and easy way to share their research information, further enhancing collaborative research. Library Acquires Major Database of 18th Century Texts

In response to many requests, the Library has recently purchased the Eighteenth Century Collection Online (ECCO) database. The 180,000 titles represented in the collection now have records in Josiah, the Library’s online catalog. Consisting of books, pamphlets, broadsides, and ephemera, ECCO includes every significant English-language and foreign-language title printed in the United Kingdom, along with Library Acquires Major Database of 18th Century Texts

The Books and Papers of Michael V. Bhatia ’99 at the Brown University Library

The Brown University Library has received the books and papers of the late Michael V. Bhatia ’99, an Afghanistan expert and coauthor of Afghanistan, Arms and Conflict: Armed Groups, Disarmament and Security in a Post-War Society, who was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in May 2008 while serving as a civilian member of The Books and Papers of Michael V.
