The Unicorn Found

Events

On Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 4 – 5:30 p.m., the John Hay Library hosted a faculty colloquium entitled Unicorn Found: Science, Literature, and the Arts to kick-off the opening of the exhibit. The colloquium featured a panel discussion with Brown professors from different disciplines engaging in scholarly inquiry into the unicorn legend. A reception followed the colloquium.

Brown professors participating in the panel hailed from the Departments of Classics, History, and Archaeology and the Ancient World. They discussed the unicorn’s presence in mythology, natural history, and allegorical images and analyzed mankind’s enduring fascination with this legendary being as well as other mythological creatures.

All events are free and open to the public.
