  • Announcing STAT+

    We are pleased to announce that your Brown University Library is now providing access to STAT+ for all students, faculty, and staff. You can now activate an account at no cost to you.

    STAT+ provides access to exclusive journalism written by health care, business, and financial reporters. Over the last few years, STAT has continued to expand its editorial coverage to provide essential and original reporting on health tech and AI in medicine, cancer, cardiovascular disease, chronic conditions, health inequities, FDA approvals, addiction, and hospitals and insurance organizations.

    Monday, January 15: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

    With the exception of the Sciences Library, all University Library locations will close on Monday, January 15, 2024 in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. The Sciences Library will be open — without services — from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.

    Tuesday, January 16: Early Closure

    The following libraries and services will close at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 to allow Library staff to attend our annual winter celebration:

    • John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Library
    • John Hay Library
    • Chat
    • Library Collections Annex
    • Sciences Library will be open until 9 p.m. with no services after 12:30 p.m.

    Orwig Music Library will be open with services until 5 p.m.

  • Soojeong Herring: Cataloging and Metadata Librarian

    Soojeong Herring will join the Library as the new Cataloging and Metadata Librarian, an integral member of the Scholarly Resources team. Soojeong brings valuable experience in cataloging both general and special collections items, managing the acquisition and cataloging of print and electronic serials, and using ExLibris’s Alma library management system.

    She previously served as the Collection Metadata Librarian and the Acquisitions and Cataloging Specialist at the Colorado State University Libraries in Fort Collins. She has also worked as the Acquisitions and Periodicals Specialist at the Pitts Theology Library of Emory University.

    Soojeong’s first day is August 1, 2023.
